Who makes a good BD player, burner not needed, <$100, for the PC?
Software, full version, not trial, included would be needed also.  Any free software out there?

As I recall...... VLC plays everything!

As for the player...... there's quite a few on newegg. I've owned liteon, samsung, and asus drives in the past. All seemed to perform as described. None were BD, however.

I have a liteon and a LG, both work great.  Software is the real problem, since most of the included software sucks.  MPC-HC seems to be the preferred player among home theater people, but it tales a little work.  I broke down and paid for Arcsoft's TotalMedia Theater.  Frankly, if you're going to use the player regularly and with new releases, AnyDVD HD is a must.

Thanks everyone for the ideas.  That LG looks good Old Marine, didn't see that one when I was on Newegg.  Arcsoft's TMT looks nice too.

Seriously, AnyDVD HD may be the most important piece of software that need if you intend to play Blu-Ray's.  Just do a google search and you'll see many threads about it.
